The Trade Fair

BCN Gluten FREE was born in 2015 with the aim of turning Barcelona into the European capital of gluten-free products and the gluten-free diet. The largest gluten-free food trade fair of our country returns in 2019 in a B2C format. The trade fair will present the latest developments in the sector and future trends in this type of nutrition. In addition, the trade fair has opened its doors to products suitable for other food intolerances related to coeliac disease, such as lactose intolerance. 

The first edition of the trade fair welcomed over 70 exhibitors and 9,000 visitors. BCN Gluten FREE 2019 hopes to continue to grow and consolidate itself in a sector that currently turns over 80 million euros in Spain and that is expected to increase at a rate of 15% per year. 

We’re targeting a growing market, driven by the 400,000 people who suffer from coeliac disease in our country - 1% of the population as a whole - and who are growing in number by 15% each year. At present, Spain is the fifth country in Europe with the highest consumption of gluten-free products. 

In a space measuring 5,000m², BCN Gluten FREE 2019 will feature more than 100 national and international exhibitors and will receive more than 10,000 visitors. It will also host the International Coeliac Day celebrations.



ATYPICAL BCN is an original and unique communication agency that offers a comprehensive communications service from within its own structure. The organisation works closely with the client in order to achieve the objectives outlined in their on- and off-line strategies: promote their image, roll out the brand, increase recognition of their products/services and position them within the target audience.

The 2019 edition will by supported by the Coeliac Association of Catalonia and it will bring together coeliacs, people with intolerances, manufacturers, associations, doctors and researchers.
